The 2014 Annual Spring Working and Horse Ploughing Match takes place on Easter Sunday, 20th April! Gates are open from 10am, with free parking. Entry for adults is only £5, and children are free. It is held, once again, at Holdens Farm, East Knoyle, which is off the A350 near the traffic-lights for the Hindon turning (the postcode for your satnav is SP3 6D).

There's lots planned this year to make it a real family day out, including a family Easter Egg Hunt, wagon rides and a fun Dog Show, as well as a gun-dog display, veterinary talks, farriery demonstration and more. There is a harness sale, and, of course refreshments. All this, as well as horses working on the plot with a range of horse-drawn implements and plenty of opportunities to talk to the horsemen and horsewomen about their horses and the work they are doing with them.

This is one of the first events of the year, and we encourage a relaxed and friendly occasion where the participants can introduce new horses to a public event and remind the more experienced horses what it's all about after their winter break. We would love to see you there too! As always, please be aware of your own safety and that of others- keep dogs on their leads, move clear when horses and equipment are being moved around the site, ask permission before petting any of the horses, keep young children under close supervision and show older children how to behave sensibly and responsibly around the animals.
